SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Freshman Ja'Mari Ward (Cahokia, Ill.) and junior Karissa Schweizer (Urbandale, Iowa) shined for Mizzou Track & Field at the USA Track & Field Championships on Friday as Ward made his second consecutive junior world team and Schweizer reset her 5,000m run school record. Ward's win in the long jump punched his ticket to the World Championships, while Schweizer finished fourth in the 5K.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Football's annual Gridiron Girls Night Out event is set for July 20 at the Columns Club on the East Side of Memorial Stadium. COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving programs, as well as 22 individual student-athletes, earned academic honors from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), the organization announced on Wednesday. Both Tiger teams claimed Scholar All-America recognition for achieving spring 2017 grade point averages of 3.0 or higher, while 14 individuals were named Individual Scholar All-Americans and an additional eight claimed honorable mention honors.

Junior RHP Bryce Montes De Oca (Lawrence, Kan.) was taken in the 15th round (No. 463 overall) by the Washington Nationals. Junior INF Robbie Glendinning (Scarborough, Australia) was taken in the 21st round (No. 628) by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Junior C Brett Bond (St. Louis, Mo.) was selected in the 23rd round (No. 691) by the Houston Astros. Redshirt junior RHP Cole Bartlett (Williamsburg, Ind.) went in the 25th round (No. 742 overall) to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Schweizer is one of 10 semifinalists for the most prestigious award in collegiate track & field.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball LHP T.J. Sikkema (DeWitt, Iowa) earned Second Team Freshman All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), announced Monday (June 12). The NCBWA is the second major publication to honor Sikkema as a Freshman All-American this season. He earned a spot on the second team as a relief pitcher.
